General Information
I am a master student in the Database & Knowledge Engineering Institute of the Department of Computer Science, Sichuan University. My supervisor is Professor Chanjie Tang .
During May to November of 2007, I was a visiting student in Microsoft Research Asia, supervised by Researcher Min Chu.
I obtained my Bachelor's degree of Computer Science from Sichuan University in July 2006. In the Bachelor stage, I was a member of the founders of United Ideas Soft Co., LTD. This small company was obtained a venture investment by Softbank for technological innovation in 2004. I was the original software engineer in the company.
I am looking for opportunities to pursue a PhD's degree in the U.S. or Canada, here is my Curriculum Vitae.
Research Interests
I am interested in Database and Data mining, Machine learning, and Genetic Algorithm.
Moreover, I aslo interested in Distributed Data Mining Projects, the platform of Large Scale Data Storage and Computing System, such as Web Search Engine.

Research Experiences
Microsoft Research Asia, Visiting Student in the group of Data Intelligence and Tools, (May 2007 - December 2007)
Developed a tool of CART (Classification and Regression Tree) algorithm on a large-scale parallel computing system, and applied it to analyze the Windows Vista boot time dataset to discover causal knowledge about the bottleneck of Windows startup. In charge of implementation using C++ and parallel version of algorithm design.
Developed a middle querying engine MDA ( Multidimensional Data Access) to handle multidimensional query on a BigTable system (a distributed data table), which was used by several research teams in DIT group of MSRA. In charge of the architecture design and implementation of kernel engine using C++.
Database and Knowledge Engineering Institute, Research Assistant, (September 2006 - Present)
Designed and implemented Knowledge Discovering System based on Gene Expression, which was supported by Software Innovation Foundation of Project of Sichuan Youth (No.2005AA0807). I was in charge of the parallel evolution part of gene expressions on multiply machines.
Participated in National Birth Defects Supervision Project (China), which was supported by the 11-th Five Years Key Programs for Sci. &Tech. Development of China under grant no. 2006BAI05A01. In charge of the architecture to combine OLAP module and a variety data mining algorithms on the birth defect dataset to analyze causal and intervention knowledge.
Participated in National Earthquake Detection and Reporting System (China), which was directed by Seismology Bureau of Sichuan Province in 2007. In charge of development of GIS user interface module and rapid reporting generating module.
Industrial Experiences
United Ideas Soft Co., LTD, One of Company Founders & Software Engineer, (December 2003 - August 2006)
Explored the techniques of J2ME Mobile software development, such as wireless network communication among mobiles, J2ME graphics. As a team leader, directed the developments of formal products of J2ME Mobile video game.
Explored the techniques of software development on Symbian OS, developed and maintained a specific C++ library that encapsulated complex invoking of network, storage and graphics of Symbian OS. This library was provided to several product teams to develop mobile software running on Symbian OS.

Personal Projects
FreeGEP- I developed a free, opensource, simple and fast software, based on Gene Expression Programming (GEP) algorithm. This project is hosted in Google Code,(http://code.google.com/p/freegep)
OpenMiner- My classmates and I developed an opensouce framework to provide a data mining server,(http://openminer.sourceforge.net/), but this project is not maintained right now. ..
Lanshan - It is a personal research project to test my ideas about the web search engine and web crawler, which is hosted in Google Code (http://code.google.com/p/lanshan/) .
