Dr Xue Li is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He graduated in Computer Software from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China (1978 - 1982). He worked as a Lecturer at National University of Defence Technology (NUDT), Changsha, China (1982-1986). He obtained the MSc degree in computer Science from University of Queensland (1987 - 1990). He worked as a lecturer in the Department of Computing at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia (1990-1998). He obtained the Ph.D degree in Information Systems from QUT 1997. From Jan. 1998 to Dec 2000, he worked as a senior lecturer in School of ISTM, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Since December 2000, he has been working with University of Queensland. He is also an Adjunct Professor of University of Electronic Science and Technology, China. Dr Xue Li's major areas of research interests and expertise include: Data Mining, Multimedia Data Security, Database Systems, and Intelligent Web Information Systems. He is a member of ACM, IEEE, and SIGKDD.

Nick Cercone is a professor and the dean at Faculty of Science & Engineering, York University, Canada. His research interests are Artificial Intelligence (including automated natural language understanding, computational linguistics, and knowledge representation), Knowledge-Based Systems (including knowledge discovery, data analysis and data mining) and Human-Machine Interfaces (including natural language and multimedia interfaces). He received his PhD from the The University of Alberta. He’s a fellow of IEEE and a member of ACM, ACL, ALLC, AAAI. He is also a member of ICDM, TCCI, WI/IAT and RSFDGrC.
Professor Xiaofang Zhou is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Queensland. He is the Head of the Data and Knowledge Engineering Research Group (DKE). He is also the Convenor of ARC Research Network in Enterprise Information Infrastructure (EII), and a Chief Investigator of ARC Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics. Professor Zhou received his BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from Nanjing University in 1984 and 1987 respectively, and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Queensland in 1994. From 1994 to 1999, he worked as a Senior Research Scientist in CSIRO, leading its Spatial Information Systems group. His research focuses on finding effective and efficient solutions to managing, integrating and analysing very large amount of complex data for business and scientific applications. His research interests include spatial and multimedia databases, data quality, high performance query processing, Web information systems and bioinformatics.

Prof. TANG Changjie , received his B.Sc and MSc. from Department of Mathematics, Sichuan University, China in 1969,1981, respectively. Prof. TANG Changjie is vice director of Database Society of Chinese Computer Federation . He was PC member of VLDB'97(Very Large Data Bases) and many other international conferences. He is program chair of NDBC01, WAIM03, WAIM05 and NDBC06. His recent research interesting is on data mining, computer security and machine translation; He has published 8 books and more than one hundred research papers in international database conferences and computer science journals such as FODO, IFIP,SIGMOD, DASFAA, ICSC, TCS (Theoretical Computer Science) ,LNCS, JOS, JCST, SC (Science of China). He received several awards of science and technology from government. He also received the national award as the author of excellent science and technology books.
Charles X. Ling is a Professor of Computer Science at University of Western Ontario, Canada. He earned his Msc and PhD from the Department of Computer and Information Science at Univ of Pennsylvania (Ivy League) in 1987 and 1989 respectively. His main research areas include machine learning (theory, algorithms, and applications), cognitive modeling, and child education. He has published over 100 research papers in journals (such as Machine Learning, JMLR, JAIR, Bioinformatics, IEEE TKDE, and Cognition) and international conferences (such as IJCAI, AAAI, ICML, KDD, and ICDM). He is an Associate Editor for IEEE TKDE, and IEEE Senior Member. He is the Director of Data Mining and E-Business Lab, leading data mining development in CRM, Bioinformatics, and the Internet.
Keynote Speakers:
Weiyi Meng is currently a professor in the Department of Computer Science of the State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois at Chicago in 1992. At the same year, he joined his current department as a faculty member. He is the co-author of the book “Principles of Database Query Processing for Advanced Applications”. He has published over 100 papers and many of them in top conferences and journals, including SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, WWW, KDD, SIGIR, ACM TODS, ACM TOIS, and IEEE TKDE. He has served as general chair and program chair of several international conferences, including as a PC Co-Chair of this year's WAIM conference. In recent years, his research has been focused on metasearch engine, Web data integration, Internet-based Information Retrieval, and information extraction. He is a co-founder of an Internet company (Webscalers) and serves as its president. His company has developed the world's largest news metasearch engine AllInOneNews.
Qiang Yang is a professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. His research interests are AI and data mining, including machine learning, planning, case-based reasoning. He received his PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park. He's a member of AAAI, ACM and a senior member of the IEEE. He is also an associate editor for the IEEE TKDE and IEEE Intelligent Systems, KAIS and WI Journals.

Alfredo Cuzzocrea is a researcher in the Institute of High Performance Computing and Networking, Italian National Research Council, Italy, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems, University of Calabria, Italy. He received the PhD Degree in Computer Science and Systems Engineering from the University of Calabria in 2005. His research interests include Multidimensional Data Modeling and Querying, Data Warehousing and OLAP, Data Stream Modeling and Querying, XML Data Management, Web Information Systems Modeling and Engineering, Knowledge Representation and Management Models and Techniques, Grid and P2P Computing. He has published a book and a lot of research papers in international conferences and journals. He is a Review Board Member of ICDE, and a Program Committee Member of many International Conferences, including PAKDD, APWeb, WAIM, DEXA, DaWaK,SAC-DM, DAWAM, and PAKDD. He is also a Guest Editor of JDIM, a Journal Review Board Member of FGCS, INS, IS, JCST, JDIM, IJKESDP, IJSEKE, TODS, TKDE, and a Book Review Board Member of EDWM, EDTA, and EIST.
