报告题目：Enabling IoT: Efficient tag management in large-scale RFID systems

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has been experiencing ever-increasing deployment in a wide-range of Internet-of-Thing applications, such as inventory control and supply chain management. In this context, it is very challenging to study a number of research problems related to tag management, namely tag counting, monitoring, and data management, one of the most fundamental component in RFID systems, particularly when the system scales. These problems are simple to state and intuitively understandable, while of both fundamental and practical importance, and require non-trivial efforts to solve. Specifically, I will first briefly introduce my work on tag counting and monitoring, and elaborate the problem of tag data management in terms of tag group labeling, ranging from theoretical modeling and analysis, to practical algorithm design and optimisation.
Dr. Jihong Yu is currently working as a research fellow at Simon Fraser University. He received the B.E degree in communication engineering and M.E degree in communication and information systems from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chongqing, China, in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and received the Ph.D. degree in computer science at the University of Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, in 2016. He serves as TPC of ICNC’18 and IEEE ICCE’18. His research interests include wireless communications and networking and RFID technologies.
