报告题目：Energy-Efficient Algorithms and Protocols in Wireless Body Area Networks

Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) have received lots of attentions in recent years for its wide-range of various applications, such as healthcare monitoring, rehabilitation, performance monitoring in sporting activities and motion detection. Due to the limited energy resource of sensor nodes, one of the fundamental problems is to conserve energy to prolong the network lifetime. To address this problem, in this context, a number of research work related to effective and efficient energy consumption are presented systematically. Specifically, I will introduce my work on leader election algorithm in clustering-based mechanism, duty-cycling MAC protocol for WBANs with concurrent traffic and multi-channel broadcast algorithm in duty-cycling WBANs from theoretical modeling and analysis perspective.
Dr. Rongrong Zhang is currently working as a research fellow at University of Ottawa, Canada. She received B.E. degree in communication engineering and M.E. degree in communication and information systems from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chongqing, China, in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and received the Ph.D degree in computer science at the University of Paris Descartes, Paris, France, in 2017. Her research interests include wireless body area networks, wireless sensor networks, smart city, cloud computing.
